LIMITS ON VOTING. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Prohibits citizens from voting at the polls unless they present a government-issued photo-identification card. Establishes provisional voting for citizens at the polls who fail to present government-issued photo-identification. Requires that provisional and mail-in ballots be deemed invalid unless the accompanying envelope is marked with the last four digits of a citizen's California driver's license, state identification card or social security number. Eliminates the right to vote for citizens on probation for a felony offense. Establishes that ballots from absent military personnael are timely if postmarked by election day.
VOTER IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENT. INITIATIVE STATUTE. Requires that voters present one of four types of picture identification before voting: (1) California driver's license; (2) California Department of Motor Vehicles issued identification card; (3) military identification card; or (4) United States Passport. Requires that election precinct officers confirm the identity of each voter and record their identification number. Provides that failure to comply with these requirements will constitute election fraud, punishable as a felony. Allows voters who cannot provide identification to vote, in the form of a provisional ballot.
Petitions should be available soon.
I am sure it wasn’t a political move at all.
Just a mere coincidence... like with Prop 8.
Gov. “Moonbeam” This is great!
He's up to something here and it isn't to protect the votes of legal citizens. It must be a statist ploy.
* George Orwell's "1984".
Precisely. Brown is a rat, and rats don’t like anything that deters vote fraud.
This is some kind of game he’s up to.
Everyone will have to get 'em with DNA prints and retinal scan, then the SCOTUS will rule you can't ask minorities to present them at the polls.
Results: Rat favoring vote fraud continues, and everyone has to carry "papers" to show police when demanded because they now exist.
Notice Moonbeam’s write-up. It is all about citizens. It says nothing about non-citizens and does not restrict them in any way.
Theoretically an illegal wouldn't have a California driver's license, but we know that tens of thousands real, DMV issued, CDLs have been discovered, so ALL those illegal felons could have voted in the last election where the Kenyan won.
