EXCLUSIVE: Minn. lawmaker vows not to complete Census - (ALL questions must be answered?)
Washington Times ^ | 6/17/09 | Stephen Kinan

Outspoken Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann says she's so worried that information from next year's national census will be abused that she will refuse to fill out anything more than the number of people in her household.

In an interview Wednesday morning with The Washington Times "America's Morning News," Mrs. Bachmann, Minnesota Republican, said the questions have become "very intricate, very personal" and she also fears ACORN, the community organizing group that came under fire for its voter registration efforts last year, will be part of the Census Bureau's door-to-door information collection efforts.

(SNIP)

Shelly Lowe, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Census Bureau, said Mrs. Bachmann is "misreading" the law.

So, it’s a $100 ticket if you refuse to answer some of the questions? I’d bet some compliant judge would read that to say $100 for each question you refused to answer, but normal humans would read it the way I just did.

I want to know why we should give information to a fake POTUS and his fake administration?

We used Census data to round up the Japanese in the 40s.

Excellent point. If needed, use it to get your $100 back. Stroke of a pen, and all that "secret" information becomes public.

applying to himself or to the family to which he belongs or is related, or to the farm or farms of which he or his family is the occupant

A quick read of the law tells me that I am required to answer questions about me, my family, and any farm or farms I own.

There is no requirement to answer questions about my finances, my house, my toilet, my TV, my internet or phone service, my vehicles, my pets, or my furniture.

Since I don't own a farm, that pretty much leaves just family member names and ages.

Considering all legally relevant data, he is POTUS and his administration is legitimate. If you have anything to the contrary* PLEASE SHARE and use proper channels accordingly.

(* - I mean info that would stand up in court, not hearsay.)

Census worker showed up not long after, and started pressing for other answers. I simply replied something like “I have given all the information required by the Constitution, and anything beyond that requires a warrant.”

Bingo

Why the particular interest in farms? Especially considering pending legislation which will severely regulate them! Nothin’ in the Constitution specially applies the Census to farms.

The constitutional authorization for the Census is to simply COUNT THE CITIZENRY for purposes of congressional apportionment, that is all.

If you answer any other question on the Census other than “how many people live in your household” you are a fool.

All I want is a government that gets itself out of my wallet and off my back, as the founders of this nation intended. Today that statement makes me an enemy of the state.

I’s pay the $100 to not give them any more info than how many persons live here.
But they have to take me to court to get it.

Finally, he got pissed off and told me that there would be trouble if I didn’t comply. I hung up on him.”

Harrassment, IMO. Typical Community Organizer tactics, eh?

“All they will get from me is our names, the number in our household and birthdates and places of birth.”

Why would you give them your name, age, or anything but the number of human inhabitants.

To aportion the House that’s all they are entitled to.

My answer in the last 4 census surveys and will be on this one is 2 homosapians and the rest of the form in red ink will be NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

I look at it a different way. Often one needs much more than just numbers to make an accurate count. You need actually to identify the inhabitants, so that they are not double-counted or missed.
This is a long tradition since 1850.
The information collected is very useful historically, especially for family history studies.
Here is the paradox: by asking overly invasive questions, a cry of “privacy right” will arise, and the data from these records may be ritualistically destroyed, so that researchers will have nothing at all to go by.

I will not answer any census question that I consider inappropriate or none of the government’s business such as how much money I make etc.

None of their g.d. business.”

The Census is to count people and where they are. This is to give each state the proper number of people in the House of Representatives.

Nothing more.
