Where would enough rain to drown the earth have come from unless the surface was under water when evaporation began?

Hypothetically an inland sea held back behind a glacier would release enough water to be seen as the Biblical flood. Looking at the topography of that map it is apparent that the land of Noah rests in a bowl similar to modern New Orleans and it didn't take God's hand to destroy it.

You said — and it didn’t take God’s hand to destroy it.

Well.., it’s always sounded real funny to me, to have a “local flood” when God gave the warning for the flood over 100 years prior to when it happened. I have to think that Noah and his family could walk a very long ways in 100 years and certainly “get out of the way”... LOL...

That sure was a waste of a lot of energy and resources to spend all that time making a big boat, when all they had to do was walk a ways... :-)

And then there were all those animals. I mean, why gather them all together in that area to get on that big boat? Just send those animals away to other parts of the world where the local flood is not going to reach.

Besides that, God did say that He destroyed all human life except for Noah and his three sons and their three wives. And then after it was over, God outlines how the whole world was repopulated from those three sons.

The whole idea of a local flood sounds pretty hokey to me... :-)
