Iran’s Green Revolution Could Change the World
Pajamas Media ^ | June 22 | Ryan Mauro

Should the Green Revolution succeed in toppling the regime, it will be the greatest event since the collapse of the Soviet Union. It will prove to be a more decisive event than even the invasion of Iraq and will rival the attacks of September 11, 2001, in influencing the course of history. The stakes could not be higher. The regime could fall, resulting in the greatest victory in the war on terror to date, or the regime will survive, leaving behind tens of thousands of bloodied bodies, a discouraged population unlikely to take such risks again and bitter at the lack of support from the United States, potentially losing the West one of its best allies. The regime will emerge stronger than before, far more emboldened, and far more vicious and radical — a development that could prove fatal to efforts to prevent a regional war from erupting.

The conflict between the Iranian regime and the civilized world has reached across continents, influencing almost every sphere of conflict. The most immediate effects would be seen in the Middle East. The world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism, the primary lifeline of Hamas, Hezbollah, and other groups, and a secret but critical supporter of al-Qaeda will be eliminated, forcing them into a desperate search for funding, training, arms, ideological support, and guidance to keep them afloat. Hamas will suffer a mighty blow, setting them on a downhill track they probably won’t be able to reverse....

It changes nothing regarding Islam and the Koran and the prophet Mohammed and what it all says about destroying the state of Israel and all the Jews. Iran is 98% Muslim and they show *no inclination* at all to get rid of Islam.

The perpetrator of terrorism in the world and the Middle East and the kind of rhetoric that Ahmadinejad spouts off is straight from the religio-governmental idealogy of Islam. That won’t change no matter who is in office there in Iran.

And also, we can see from the Bible that the nations who will engage in an invasion of Israel are Russia and Iran, allied together, along with a group of other Muslim nations.

That’s referred to as the God/Magog war of Ezekiel 38/39.

I wouldn’t hold out any hope that Iran is going to dump Islam and change its ways, no matter who is in “power” there...

Yeah. Watch the media stumble all over themselves to recognize that watching a democracy in action next door inspired them to aspire to freedom.

Yes. In this case it really is Bush's Fault...

Exactly right! This article is also right on target. This is a moment of truth for the world and it is important that everyone support democracy wherever it is trying to get a foothold, especially in the Middle East. So tweet and blog and do whatever you can to show support.

I know several Persian that emigrated from Iran. They are bright, articulate and sophisticated people. A great ally, if possible, they are Muslim, yes, but certainly not Islamists. Khomeini and company lied thru their teeth, set up an internal thought police, and created a dictatorship. Come to think of it, very much like what Obama is attempting. No wonder he’s so Miquetoast on Iran. He’s an Ayatollah Wannabe!
