My grandmother can no longer walk and my parent’s care for her in their home. She’ll be 92 soon and her mind is sharp as a tack! My two youngest children have a wonderful relationship with her. The bring toys to her and read to her. My kids are a constant joy to her as well. I’m so grateful for the surgeries that kept my grandma alive 3 years ago. We all love her dearly and will miss her when God is ready for her. Thankful for every day we have!

Just demonstrate your love and give them their dignity even though they don’t deserve sometimes. LOL.

When you make it to that age they just become very observant of you, everyone and the environment.

The only thing they want at this point in their life is spoil your kids. Give them some leeway, it won’t hurt and your children will be left with great memories.

I’ll bet their eyes just light up when you bring those children. They do it because they know that is their legacy and their relevancy.

Speaking of sharp as a tack. Last night I was visited by a friend whose mother will be 90 something and she also said her mother was sharp as a tack. I let my ego do a “one up” when she asked about my friend and I said well my Stella is “Sharp as a Stilleto” and pretty as a rainbow.

Thanks for replying to my post. I am going to see my friend early today and bring her flowers and just have a nice conversation.

My mother lived in her home until about a month before she died (at 94) even though she was in declining health. This winter she fractured a bone and was in excruciating pain. She had successful surgery but age caught up with her and she died about a month later. As far as I’m concerned (and the doctors too) the surgery was completely worth it.

I’m waiting for AARP to take Obama to task. /sarc
