Obama Health Care Plan Not the Gold Standard He Promised in Campaign?

If not, then why does the current bill exempt Members of Congress?

"If you don't have health insurance, you'll be able to get the same kind of health insurance Members of Congress get for themselves."

--Barack Obama, "Closing Argument" speech, Canton, Ohio, October 26, 2008 In a rare moment during last night's Democrat Party health care infomercial on ABC, President Obama was challenged by Dr. Orrin Devinsky, a neurologist and researcher at the New York University Langone Medical Center. Dr. Devinsky asked if Obama's wife or one of his daughters was sick and the plan the President proposed limited tests and treatments, would Obama "potentially sacrifice the health of your family for the greater good of insuring millions, or would you do everything you possibly could as a father and husband to get the best health care and outcome for your family?"

The short answer (something that is difficult for Obama) is no. He would do whatever it takes.

But the question itself stems from a faulty premise. Neither Obama, nor members of Congress will have to face the difficult choices of Obama-Care. Page 114, line 22 of the Kennedy-Dodd "Affordable Health Choices Act" bill (PDF) clearly exempts members of congress and federal employees and their families. They will continue to be covered by what many regard as the Gold Standard for health care at your expense.

Will YOUR Member of Congress Join Obama Care?

The real question is:

Do people care enough about their friends and family, their children, to find out what’s really going on in healthcare reform?

Yes, Obama would take whatever he could to get all that he could. Oh yeah, sure then there's the little people to think about.

Well...we shall see.....I sent THIS EMAIL to family and friends today.....

Time for Action

Call your SENATORS and CONGRESSIONAL REPS TODAY.....why?....to ask them

1) to vote NO on Cap and Trade, AND

2) to ask them if they are going to give up THEIR HEALTHCARE insurance program and join the one they are designing for us....that’s a YES or NO answer.

Otherwise.....if these pass....your children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews will be spitting on your graves......and China and the rest of the world will be laughing as American commerce (and success) is destroyed!!!! Now, if that is what you want....hey, don’t bother.

I’ve been wondering. Is there a possibility that many doctors become “black market” providers with fee for service outside the government system?

Unions exempt? Now federal employees exempt? It seems to me this is not only unjust, but illegal.

What next, all registered democrats exempt?

Someone on FR said there will be ships offshore offering services....I think they could be correct. Black market for docs could be difficult....they’d get their licenses yanked...but, then....if it happened to MY doc....I wouldn’t care....but, it WOULD make it difficult for them to practice generally. And knowing Obomba and his crew....they’d make life VERY difficult for them. Probably really HEAVY FINES.

Maybe AARP should start a union...and maybe there should be a union for non-union people.

Frankly we ought to be rioting in the streets with the money that’s been stolen just since the inauguration.

Write your CongressCritters and tell them to vote NO on ObamaCare UNLESS it includes All Union Members and ALL Government Employees. We Want What They Have, Or Nothing.

Better yet, have the County Health Dept hire a couple of Doctors and Physician’s Assistants. Add a couple Dentists. Repeal the 16th Amendment so that States can tax to pay for the benefits. Put Physical Education back into the school systems to get kids healthy. Ask businesses to help their employees get 20 minutes of exercise a day . . . put the parking lot a mile away from the building.

Stuff like that. Don’t forget to repeal the 17th Amendment too.
