This forced retrofit is more government intrusion and another reason to contact your Senators to voice your opposition to this socialist bill. We need to pour it on every single day, not just 24 hours before the vote. Keep up the pressure! Flood Capital Hill with phone calls, emails and faxes! Toll free Capital Switchboard numbers are below.

The Senate is out on vacation. They have no time to read the 1400+ pages of fine print, nor do they care. They still think this bill will create incredible economic growth from people having to rebuild their homes.
Not to mention all the Federal inspectors, code enforcers, and staff workers this new Bureau/Agency will create. To them, this is a real opportunity grow the government monster beyond it's ability to feed itself.

Well, you can certainly see which special interest and its lobbyists is involved with Waxman on this non-sense.
Us folks who own older homes are just screwed if this thing gets through the Senate. Can't afford to "retrofit" so you can't sell. Stupid.

Our homes are no longer our castles - they now are the castles of the EPA.

I am sure that everyone will be held to the same standards, whether they live in the inner cities or in the suburbs.

It will also depend on the fact, that it is critical as to which party your Representatives or Senators belong to.

Boy oh BOY...This entire CRAP and SHAFT bill is just one big ole BOX OF SNAKES.

I scolded one of the 8 traitors—Bono in CA-on this issue, and asked her if she knew this was in the bill. No reply.
Not holding my breath. Told via email to Ron Nehring that the 8 traitors need to go, and he replied not to blame them, but the DEMS! I replied that he best get them in line, as their jobs are now on the line. No reply.

And, the 0bamunist march to marxism continues...
The Federal government has gotten away with so many anti-Constitutional pogroms and initiatives in the past 70 years or so, that they now feel free to do anything to anyone with impunity.
It’s time to take back the country.

I’m also sure everyone will be eligible for the tax credits or loans to help pay for the testing and retrofit.

Those retrofits would be performed by licensed retrofit (Read UNION) contractors using government-approved methods and resources including roofing materials that reflect solar energy. This is how they are going to claim this bill creates jobs. By forcing homeowners to "retrofit" using union "licensed" contractors to do the work.

The Contractors working on you house will also have to be pre-approved by the Goobermint, like as in Union employed Contractors.
Get it? And do-it-yourselfers will be a felony without having a Goobermint inspector checking everything done. You won't even be able to fix your kitchen sink yourself.
