Do you feel good about advancing the radical Democrat agenda?

I would feel better about a GOP party that would remove it’s head from it’s @ss and start concerning itself with winning elections rather than planning the next coffee klatch.

“Do you feel good about advancing the radical Democrat agenda?”

The GOP leadership continually moving the moving the party to the left also enables the democrats to nominate progressively more radical candidates. A fine example of what this author is talking about is the failed Giuliani candidacy. Rooty was so far left that he repudiated the moral and political convictions of the entire conservative grassroots of the party. But we had him rammed down our throats. We were told that he was the only one that could win, that he was the only one that could get $100 million in contributions/lobbyist funding, that he could deliver the latino vote, the gay vote, etc. We were told that our only chance was to support a liberal that we all hated because he was bought & paid for and therefore a powerful contender. Well, ol Rudy went down in flames because nobody could stand him. When his keepers realized that Rudy had no chance, they threw their money and support to the next most liberal yet controllable candidate McCain and told us that we all had to support him. McCain’s coffers had been completely empty and was teetering on bowing out. Then he got picked up by Rudy’s keepers and we got him rammed down our throats. Conservative candidates got attacked, ridiculed and shouted down. McCain was a more liberal version of GWB with all of GWB’s baggage on the issues that had alienated the voters. Ain’t no wonder he lost.

Obama could not have won against any moderately acceptable GOP candidate with a level head. Instead by allowing McCain to be forced on us, we lost the election. The GOP leadership and powerbrokers cost us the election and brought us the most liberal president in history.

By enabling the GOP leadership’s questionable actions you cannot say that you are not advancing the radical Democrat agenda.

As opposed to what? the Republican agenda = better and cheaper welfare state, and slower surrender to our enemies.

Excuse me, but I don’t think you have a good measure of MN politics. The greatest frustration for any conservative in MN is finding a solid conservative that actually gets party support. Having been in lower levels (up to county level office and state delegate many times), I have witnessed party leaders advance and promote smoking bans, state health care, hate crimes legislation, gun control legislation, abortion and too many other policies that are anathema to conservatism, morality and traditional American ideals. In fact, I once witnessed Mark Johnson (Met Council and party hack extraordinaire)) argue with delegates in a heated fashion as to why we were selfish and short sighted in not endorsing a flaming leftist that had had years of ‘R’ support in campaigns. The candidate and Johnson left in a huff after delegates handed her a rejection. That was one small case in hundreds - time for a new vision, leadership and party. Let the dead bury the dead.
