Pay particular attention to the Gulf of Oman.
+1 Insightful
The last bit of military work I did was some consultation with the IDF about their subs at Haifa Naval Base, about 2 years ago.
I can neither confirm nor deny that they are equipped with special weapons and physics packages. (Though it's difficult saying that with a straight face).
I can however confirm that unlike most computer combat systems, the ones the Dolphins have can be relatively easily configured for new weapons and sensors as they become available. I know, I helped make it.
I really hope they don't have to use any really drastic measures. While the Dolphins could easily "sweep the seas" of the Iranian navy, their other targets would be limited. Hypothetical sub-launched POPEYEs, assuming they exist of course, would be far more suited for retaliatory counter-value strategic strike than pinpoint counter-force tactical targets.
