CHICAGO (CBS) ― Three men were fatally shot. One man was fatally stabbed. Police shot one man and at least seven other people were wounded by gunfire -- including an 8-year-old boy sitting in his bedroom -- during an especially violent six hours late Wednesday and early Thursday mainly on the South and West Sides.

Personally, I cherish the rich diversity these cultures bring to our American mosaic.
I don’t live too far from the shooting on Wood St. Fortunately, I live in a masonry structure (2 wythes of solid brick), which offers a modicum of protection as long as one stays away from the windows (had a bullet go through my dining room window in the early Nineties).
Obviously, a lot of active night owls judging by the times of these incidents.
When little Dick Daley has his heart clincher that city is gonna burn. The only question will it be a fast burn or a slow burn, but its gonna be Sarejevo on Lake Michigan.

Chicago has the strictest gun control in the nation.
That's why many of us have moved out to the suburbs. After 30 years in the city, my capacity for tolerating idiocy and deviancy was completely filled.

I have noticed even many of the suburbs have the same gun polciy, although I think Winnetka revoked their ban (or was it Wilmette?)
Anyways, be rest assured Mayor Daley owns a gun.

As far as I know, Wilmette and Morton Grove revoked their gun bans. I think Evanston and Oak Park (very libbie places with lotsa college professor types) still have bans.
Little Richie probably doesn’t need a gun. He has his own personal protection, bought and paid for - The Chicago Police Department.

I remember seeing the Robert Taylor Homes along the Dan Ryan... thinking, “as I drive by here, chances are someone is getting raped, robbed or murdered in there this very second.”
Well, I don’t know whether the mayor has a gun. But he does have a security team of beefy Chicago cops who follow him everywhere, even on weekend jaunts to his Michigan Beach House. This became public in the last few days, when one of Daley’s Chicago PD bodyguards captured an escaped felon near Daley’s Michigan beach house.
Was it Indiana or Illinois where Michael Jackson and his family of freaks came from?
This can’t be true! There are no guns in Chicago!
