What is Del Monte in San Francisco getting over 10 million dollars for? It says undefined. Also why is Chicago missing from the map? Or am I going blind?
Out of the $48,402,384.21 that is being spent on Agricultural Marketing Service and Farm Services in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act[so far], $16,784,272.81 is being spent on CANNED PORK from Lakeside Foods in Wisconsin.
Other culinary spending highlights:
Canned Fruit:$15,209,487.84
Eggs:$804,540.00
Cheese:$7,270,829.28
Meat:$32,388,356.37
{{Pork =$25,350,472.81}}
{{Poultry =$7,037,883.56}}
Del Monte, according to the TAS graph, is getting 8,987,079.60 (as of 7/17/2009) for Canned Fruit.
Same Hormel family/company that produced James C. Hormel- he of San Francisco, & under Clinton, ambassador to Luxembourg. He who is also living with life-partner.
Hormel gives new meaning to “pork” and swine. Serve no swine before its time.
See post 20, immediately after yours.
Apparently, nothing so honorable as to serve our soldiers. MREs for them!
No, this is for “food banks.” I smell ACORN.
Let’s just say it’s a typo and they meant 2 TONS. That’s still almost $300 a pound.
Hormel was bought out by Clougherty Packing.
Just checked out info on CD-34. Pretty solid dem majority with their representative supporting SEIU and Obamacare-

okay, not for nothing, but these are the people who are going to make health care decisions for me and my family?
I’m done, screw this ...
this is nothing but insanity!
That had better be some pretty good ham.
I wonder how much they donated to the dems?

You have more faith in government than I do. Given all the mismanagement and corruption we know they are guilty of, I have to wonder why?
See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2296746/posts, folks, it just gets better. Drudge picked this up! And a bunch of other, similar examples.
Sure: it was for a large purchase. Sec’y Vilsack got all up on his hind legs to protest, saying the cost was actually $1.50 a pound.
Annnnd... as Drudge found in a few minutes’ googling, you can get better ham for half the cost at Food Lion!
This is how the game is played, folks. Ridicule is our most potent weapon for turning the tide in 2010. And this crew is providing us with many gifts with which to bludgeon ‘em.
Enjoy!
? You can’t get sliced deli ham for 79 cents/lb!! Bone in ham maybe, and not all of that is usable. Around my area you’re lucky to get sliced deli ham for less than $4/lb.
There’s a thin line between useful ridicule and ridicule that makes you look silly if you get the facts wrong.
