Getting elected mayor of a major Hudson County city is like being made a capo in the mob, but he undoubtedly was up to his eyeballs in the crap when he was just another foot soldier. Unfortunately for him, he just got in position to make the big bucks and he's done.
No doubt 4-term Mayor Elwell already has his big pile of booty buried in his backyard or in Caribbean real estate. I'm sure his "family owned trucking business" also garnered him a mountain of dough.
