Rick Perry just stated on Mark Davis' show that Texas may use the 10th Amendment to reject Obamacare.

Go Rick.

The problem will be the masses of folks who will riot because they want their free health care.

I''m not saying or inferring Perry's wrong, I'm all for starving the beast in DC. Montana told DC to take their highway funds and stick them when the 55 mph national speed limit was enacted.

However, there sure will a lot of whining from the liberals in Austin and the Open Border weenies who'll lose funds for their 'pet' illegals.

BUT. The resistance to Obama's shredding of our Constitution has to start somewhere. Texas seems appropriate ;)

Finally a voice of reason....Perry was the same governor who tried to push all that liberal, one-world garbage on Texas. Where was his love for the 10th Amendment when he was pushing the TTC and the North American Union on Texans?

Perry is no different than Cornyn or KBH.

I know it sounds goofy, but if Perry succeeds in dissing the Feds, he deserves a statue like the one on General Sam Houston on 145 North.

Needs to be a bit shorter than Sam’s, though as no one has his stature.

From Texans Against Government Controlled Health Care

http://www.notintexas.org/

Facts about the 10th Amendment:

The Tenth Amendment (Amendment X) of the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December 15, 1791. The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitution’s principle of Federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.

Why Texans should fight National Healthcare:

When all of America’s top health insurers and providers met at the White House this week and pledged to save $2 trillion over the next decade in health costs, they were pledging to sabotage our medical care. The blunt truth, which everybody (the politicians and healthcare providers) agreed to keep quiet, is that the only way to reduce these costs is to ration healthcare, thereby destroying our system. http://www.notintexas.org/Front_4.htm

Cutting Doctors’ fees will reduce access. Your doctor may not accept the government health plan. Congress is wanting to cut Medicare fees by 21 percent. Cuts in Medicare reimbursements will spill into the government health plan and ultimately limit the number of doctors and hospitals that will accept the government plan.

Much like the HMO’s of the 80’s your doctor access will be restricted to the few doctors who will accept the socialized plan.

Limiting the availability of doctors and hospitals will have many devastating effects. Most threatening are:

Over crowding waiting rooms

Backlog of medical testing i.e. CAT scans, MRI, PET scans etc...

Rationing of Health Care

Reduction of quality college students choosing medicine as a profession.

With our aging population, quality health care providers needed now more than ever.

We can pay with our lives. The federal government want us to believe they can “mandate away” 2 trillion dollars of medical expenses. We have learned from our friends from the north (the Canadians), the best way to reduce cost is to ration care.

Government bureaucrats will pour over data and decide what the best means of care will be for the largest number of patients. If medical condition differs from the government guidelines, it will NOT be paid by the government. Should your doctor(s) decide the government allowed treatment is not for you, your doctors hands will be tied. If you don’t have the financial means to pay for your treatment elsewhere, it could cost you your life. In Canada, colonoscopies are rationed for colon cancer. Canada’s colon cancer rate is 25 percent higher than in the U.S. even though Canada’s population is smaller.

We know from history, once a government program of this nature is passed, whether it is a total failure or not, it will NEVER be rescinded.

Solution:

Texans can reject, and refuse to pay for, the federal government health plan. Texas will attract the BEST trained, MOST experienced doctors (and upcoming doctors) in the country. Texas will be the envy of every state in the union.

The truth about government controlled healthcare:
Government healthcare is failing miserably in Massachusetts
If you think a government run healthcare system can work and be more affordable, read this... http://www.notintexas.org/Front_5.htm

Article from the Washington Examiner 1/11/09:
“Obama’s health policy advisers should take a good look at the smoldering wreckage in the Bay State before trying to impose any such “universal coverage” on the rest of the nation.” Link http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/Universal_coverage_First_look_at_the_disaster_in_Massachusetts_011109.html

Medicare - What is all the fuss about?
Medicare (and health insurance) is a political football. The aging baby boomers are currently contributing more tax dollars to the Medicare Trust Fund than they ever will again in our lifetime. In 2011, the first baby boomers will become eligible for Medicare, and many of them will retire, no longer contributing to the tax base. Instead, they will become consumers of the Medicare system and begin to tap into the very funds they contributed to Medicare for more than 40 years. Within a few decades, we will suffer massive deficits caused by Medicare, Medicaid (welfare—long term care) and Social Security. There is simply not a way to finance the Medicare system long term by raising taxes. Even if taxes were raised by 50 percent of the current rate, there still would not be enough money to fund the Medicare Part A Trust Fund for the long term. The current Part A trust is expected to pay more than it takes in by 2019, and some are estimating this will begin to occur as early as 2016.

HCR 50 Has passed the house 99-36!
Affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the U.S. Constitution, serving notice to the federal government to cease and desist certain mandates, and providing that certain federal legislation be prohibited or repealed.

Take Action! Before it is too late!

Corporations are created and governed under State law. Insurance - including health insurance - is also governed exclusively by State law under the McCarran Act. The federal government therefore has NO power to order a corporation to provide health insurance to its employees, nor does it have the power to tell a state-chartered and regulated insurer what it can and cannot cover and what premiums it can charge. There is no way Congress can squeeze this into the Commerce Clause.

Oh no ...She's that swarmy?

YES!!!

When Hillary was thinking about running for the Senate, Kay said "Ihope she does run. We need more women in the Senate."

She got her wish... another liberal woman in the Senate.

Kay is the pro-abortion, pro-pornogrophy, Senator from American Airlines.

Perry isn’t great but he’s head and shoulders better than Kay,and Kinky, and slightly more conservative than Cornyn.

“Kay Bailey - Senator from American Airlines. “

That’s the truth. She is responsible for getting the anti competitive agreement at Love Field. Although I live in Fort Worth, having another airport in Dallas would have put more downward pressure on American’s rates.

She got the agreement to a) lower gates from 32 to 20 (that sure helps the consumer) b) Tear down the brand new PRIVATE airline terminal at Love Field that could have been used for competition c) continue the prohibition of flights from Love Field beyond Texas and four adjoining states for several years past what was necessary, d) work to restrict competing airports in North Texas, et al ad nauseum

Winners: American Airlines and Southwest Airlines
Losers: Consumers in Texas

Thanks Kay Bailey

RIGHT! And a couple of years before that she got Senator Sessions’ bill opening Love Field gutted.

She is also responsible for the amendment to the law that made airport security guards federal employees that allows high school drop outs to be hired for the job.

Dear Gov. Perry

Thank your for stating that you would invoke the 10th Amendment rights of the State of Texas over this debacle called Obamacare. Could you also do that for the Cap & Trade, any additional stimulus or anything else passed by the Kenyan Imposter and this congress. While we're at it, can we just seceede and tell Washington to stuff it?

I've voted for you in the past and attended the first inaugural ball. It was wonderful. I've never been so proud as when you took the oath of office for your first election. I will vote for you again.

Please - close the borders to illegal immigrants and stop allowing citizenship rights to the children of illegals. This is what is bankrupting our country. God Bless!

So are you suggesting that this movement by Rick Perry is bad?

Perry is using this and every other means at his disposal as re-election campaign gimmicks. Remember, he hinted at secession at a Tea Party rally. While we see ourselves as independent types, would we really go that far?
