Rick Perry just stated on Mark Davis' show that Texas may use the 10th Amendment to reject Obamacare.

Maybe Gov Perry should read the last page, #1017, of HR 3200 before he decides

Subtitle E—States Failing To Adhere to Certain Employment Obligations
SEC. 2541. LIMITATION ON FEDERAL FUNDS.

A State is eligible for Federal funds under the provisions of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 201 et seq.) only if the State —

(1) agrees to be subject in its capacity as an employer to each obligation under division A of this Act and the amendments made by such division applicable to persons in their capacity as an employer;
and
(2) assures that all political subdivisions in the State will do the same.

So if he's ready for a squeeze he better be ready to squeeze back by NOT sending any money to DC.

Good point. Utah, IIRC, opted out of the "No Child Getting Ahead" education debacle. But they still had to pay for it.

This Obamacare scam is raising a lot more hackles, however, so there may be several states willing to stand together and bring this conflict to a head. Things could get "interesting".

Works for me. We send more than we receive.

“So if he’s ready for a squeeze he better be ready to squeeze back by NOT sending any money to DC. “

That’s exactly what it is going to come down to. We’re going to have to draw the line with this bill and stop sending funds to DC. This is very big.

All states won’t do it, but about 30 would. The rejection of this legislation has to start somewhere. Why pass these 10th Amendment resolutions if you’re just going to keep paying the bills for all this crap.

Perry is running for governor and anything he does at this time is suspect.. The Feds have too much control over what monies are allocated back to the states for any of the states individually to buck them other than some posturing. If Perry is ready to with hold all fed monies the state pays in they he may get their attention.

Obama needs to have this defeated by the House and Senate where the legislation originates. Go Blue Dog Democrats.....
