CNN/U.S. President Jon Klein told staffers at the cable news network Thursday night that the supposed controversy regarding the legitimacy of President Obamas birth certificate is a dead story after anchor Lou Dobbs drew attention for raising the issue repeatedly on his radio program.
The website TVNewser reported today that Klein sent an e-mail to staffers of Lou Dobbs Tonight just as the program went to air, informing them that CNN researchers had determined that Hawaiian officials discarded all paper documents in 2001. A long-form birth certificate with details about the doctor who delivered Obama no longer exists, they reported. The shorter Certificate of Live Birth noting Obamas birth on Aug. 4, 1961, that has been made public is the official record.
It seems to definitively answer the question, Klein wrote, according to TVNewser. Since the show's mission is for Lou to be the explainer and enlightener, he should be sure to cite this during your segment tonite. And then it seems this story is dead -- because anyone who still is not convinced doesn't really have a legitimate beef.
In his show Thursday, Dobbs did note the explanation from Hawaiian officials, though he went on to devote another segment to the topic, interviewing CNN contributor Roland Martin and Rep. Ted Poe, a co-sponsor of a bill that would require future presidential candidates to produce their birth certificates.
Here's Dobbs' opening:
President Obama promised transparency and openness in his administration. Yet, he's chosen not to release his original birth certificate or a copy of it. And a number of Americans are asking, why not? The left-wing media has attacked me because I simply asked the question. Meanwhile, the state of Hawaii says it can't release a paper copy of

When it comes to facts, apparently CNN thinks they are entitled to giveth thereof, and taketh away. CNN just continues to do and say things that only confirms their total absence of objectivity or journalistic integrety, and they don’t don’t even seem to care any more.
Seems that way. Their stories have been inconsistent from the beginning on this. Remember it was claimed that the document serial number could not be released for securoity purposes? Remember that as of June 2008 Janice Okubo claimed to have not seen the original document?
“How was the original sealed if it was destroyed?”
And another thing...
...it makes sense that the original was destroyed when they converted to electronic documents only if the original was converted to an electronic document.
So are they saying the original document has been destroyed and the electronic version is sealed?
Or have they destroyed the orignal and lost the electronic?
Whatever the case, is it the same for everyone born in Hawaii before 1961?
Or did the dog eat the homework?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Okubo is a dingbat
More likely, the paper documents were microfilmed before being. But you can bet that the information still exists in an accessible form.
After you read your boss’s disclaimer Lou, why don’t you tell us everything else you’ve been instructed to say, or not to say?
If Obama can't prove he was born here, he's not qualified to be President. The burden of proof is on him. He's the job applicant.
I thought someone researched this and the ORIGINAL documents were scanned!!!
So does this mean we’ll be seeing Lou Dobbs on Fox News now?
That is my recollection of the story. Perhaps some documentation to that effect should be emailed to Lou Dobbs so that he has an opportunity to stand up to this nonsense.
My sister and I were walking home from the school bus stop which was right beside a small store; she went in and bought an ice cream cone and I asked her for a lick but she said no.
About five times I asked again and she would say no everytime.
When I asked the last time she looked at me and her cone in disgust and threw the ice cream cone on the ground and hurried away.
Yep. Fox News gets all of the Top Ten news times of the Top Ten. CNN first “showed” at the #11 spot.
Surely they are scanned. And just as surely, they did not toss the original, since the head of Vital Records claims she viewed it in Oct 2008. Though she DID NOT SAY that it matched the COLB info, nor that he was born in Hawaii.
THAT'S NOT WHAT HAWAII OFFICIALS SAID LAST FALL! They said that there is indeed a long form BC for 0bama on file with the state. (They did NOT say where the certificate was from.)
Could FOX be holding his spot by running Shep twice?
LOL. Bump
Strict liability is not a law but a theory in civil law. It theorizes that some endeavors are so inherently dangerous that you are presumed at faoult if something goes wrong (which is why I violently disagree). However, I think a smart attorney could use that to argue that a breach of the Constitution’s Article II could be that dangerous.
So CNN and its multimillion dollar empire, investigative reporters and what not can't find anyone, a relative, descendant, whatever, that could identify the doctor who "delivered" the current President of the United States???!!!
