Prayers for Felipe Massa BumP
Terrible news. Reminds me of Ayrton Senna.
.
I was watching qualifying when this happened. A spring came off Barichelo’s car and hit Massa in the helmet. He lost control and just went straight ahead. He finally came too, hit brakes but didn’t appear to try to turn steering wheel. He hit tire barrier straight on. Prayers for Felipe.
Looks like a spring.

Just before impact, as Massa would have been driving at about 175mph
Oh God. Prayers for Felipe. He is a good kid.

Former World Champion John Surtees young son (19 years old?) Henry died last week in a Formula 2 accident due to a head injury with a tire.
That was tragic. I saw films of this. It just "bopped" him on the head. That's a lot of weight at speed. Poor kid did not have a chance.
He looked like a very nice young man - just tragic. I like Surtees. He is always thoughtful when interviewed. Stirling Moss on the other hand has always been a bit arrogant.
.. in satisfactory condition after emergency surgery. The hospital said in a statement the Ferrari driver would be kept in intensive care overnight.
Ferrari spokesman Luca Colajanni said the drivers state was positive.
