who authored the bill? Which Marxist?
Isn’t HR 45 the brainchild of Bobby ?, a Chicago congressman and former domestic terrorist that has received no co-sponsers? If that is so then this is old news.
Ok this is an effort to attempt to counter the state sovereignty bills.
Gotta kill it.
This won’t withstand Constitutionl muster, but we must stop it anyway. Call, email, and write.
It’s so stupidly, if I can borrow a term, written that it won’t stand a chance in the current supreme court.
This one making the rounds again? Is it even out of committee yet?
This is just another effort - wait until these socialists phuks announce that if you have ever had a certain type of prescription or medicine that you are no longer “mentally stable” enough to possess a firearm. The enemy is here and the negroes and liberals elected this Kenyan.
I told you to watch those interstate and instrastate crap. Congress has been doing this for years to get what they want without public knowlege.
From his Wiki:
In 1968 Rush went AWOL from the U.S. Army, co-founded the state’s Black Panther Party and later was honorably discharged. [1] The following year he served six months in prison for illegal possession of firearms.
Rush introduced the Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 on January 6, 2009. This bill, if signed into law would require all owners of hand guns and semiautomatic firearms to register for a federal firearms license. All sales of the subject firearms would have to go through a licensed dealer. The bill would also make it a criminal act not to register as an owner of a firearm. H.R. 45 does not have any co-sponsors and has been referred to the judiciary committee.

From LA Times:
Fidel Castro to Congressional Black Caucus members: ‘How can we help President Obama?’
The aging, ailing, cigar-smoking icon Fidel Castro had three members of Congress visit with him today in Havana, which resulted in the bearded one asking, “How can we help President Obama?” In an effort to improve the relationship between Cuba and the U.S., Reps. Barbara Lee (D-Oakland), Bobby L. Rush (D-Ill.) and Emanuel Cleaver II (D-Mo.) were the first U.S. officials to meet with the 82-year-old former dictator since his intestinal surgery in July 2006.
Greg Adams of the U.S. Interests Section in Havana confirmed that the three members of the Congressional Black Caucus met with Castro
I got a call from the NRA on this one today so I googled it.
Dumbest parts:
No one under 18 may posses a fire arm which means I can’t send my 16 year old son off to shoot some squirrels.
A ban on “any semiautomatic firearm that can accept any detachable ammunition feeding device” which disqualifies my $250 .22 Ruger rifle I use for plinking.
For those who don’t own one, .22 semi automatics are the best to give kids for practice as they are cheap to buy, cheap to own, light to carry and don’t have to be reloaded after every little shot.
This is a challenge: Pass such a law. People from all over the country from all walks of life — who own no gun and don’t plan to — will rise up and demand the federal government go back in its little, restricted box.
I’m sick of pos marxists trying to take my rights away.
(4) because the intrastate and interstate trafficking of firearms are so commingled, full regulation of interstate commerce requires the incidental regulation of intrastate commerce;
Congress has used this dodge before, but it has always struck me as a violation of both the letter and the spirit of the Constitution.
Intrastate commerce is not interstate commerce, no matter how much one may be alleged to "affect" or be "commingled" with the other. It is hard to imagine that the Framers intended the commerce clause to justify any and all regulation of private enterprise by the national government.
Bill is from January 6, ‘09. I don’t believe it ever went anywhere.
What a bunch of Nazis. The upshot is, Obamamessiah and his merry band of would-be dictators are turning off Americans faster than Jeremiah Write can say G... D.... America.
Death to tyrants.
