Here is a local blogger's account of the protest, with videos and pics. He doesn't give a number estimate of turnout but calls it "enormous."

Also, Americans For Prosperity held their own rally beforehand in a different location, and the turnout is said to have been around 400.

I have lived in NC all my life and Raleigh is generally considered one of the most, if not the most, liberal cities in the state. The rest of NC leans more to the right, but Obama managed to win the state for the Dems for the first time since 1976. I'm sure he thought he was in “friendly” territory. I am thrilled that so many people showed up to prove him wrong!

NC is privileged to have three of the most outstanding hospitals in the country within a few miles of each other - Duke in Durham, NC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, and NC Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. Obamacare would have a devastating impact on the quality of health care in our state.

Gosh, I feel so bad. We should donated. Honestly, I’ve only been there a couple of times and I read it all while I was there and I didn’t even see a PayPal button. I would have sent some. I realize how much work that takes and it does cost money as the site gets larger in bandwidth. :(
