There should have been an apology from Gates, plain and simple. This is an embarrassing charade.

He is being courteous and professional, just as he was taught to be in his police training.
He may have been offered kool aid, but declined.
Gates and omomma (along with the able and apparently willing help of Crowley and yet another wise latina) have successfully promoted Gates to a now national figure, to expand his race pimping. I’ll bet you that there is a TON of ordinary cops pissedoff right now.......
