Speculation:
If this thing continues to get pushed, whether by true believers or agents provocateurs, then Obama steps forward with a certified copy of his Hawaiian BC that has been witnessed to by Hawaiian State Officials...
Well, it would result in at least a modest loss in credibility by the Republicans if only through implied guilt by association.
Then if further, more legitimate, issues are brought up the administration has a good hill to fight from. It would then be much easier for them to dismiss claims or accusations as just another baseless fishing expedition like that whole BC thing.
In other words, let Obama off the hook because of what you “know” the birthers will do in the future.
Why don’t you put this marvelous gift of knowing the future actions of others at the service of good, rather than evil?
All of those except the 'the Kenyan father/not "natural born" issue' are "red herrings" that dilute our efforts and attention. Mere citizenship is not at all the issue.
The Constitutional specification is for a "natural born citizen" -- a native born citizen -- born to parents which are both citizens.
By clinging to his claim of a Kenyan (British subject) as his father, Øbama automatically negates any possibility of being Constitutionally qualified to be President.
The only way that Øbama can pass the "natural born" test is to produce an American Long form birth certificate showing an American citizen (someone other than Barack Obama 'Sr.') to be his actual father.
Øbama's trapped: either he is not qualified per the Constitution (as he now admits) -- or he proves his entire life (and his two books, upon which his fortune rests) to be totally fabricated lies.
No wonder his attorneys raised the objection that release of his actual birth records would "result in embarassment".
