Two possibilities here as I see it:

1. The people of Columbus genuinely want to control their own destiny and are willing to pay for it. This is “federalism” at the state level. Nothing wrong with that.

2. This is a test run for ACORN and voter fraud in 2010. Plenty wrong with that.

At least you all were able to vote on it. When our sales tax was raised it was done in Sacramento and another in Los Angeles. What is your total sales tax now in Columbus? Ours is 9.75% in LA County.

Columbus is a liberal bastion and has been for decades. You reap what you sow. At least their income tax won’t affect those who don’t live or work there. They are also getting several billion in “stimulus” funds to buy “cops on the street.” It’s amazing that no matter how difficult it is for taxpayers, the government workers never feel the pinch. I wonder what the unemployment rate is in Columbus?

It was an income tax hike from 2% to 2.5%.

Now mayor Coleman can renovate some more useless theaters, plant more trees in neighborhoods that do not need them and make sure there are plenty of pretty blue lights on the underpasses to the airport.

Don't forget the Choo-Choo Train that Coleman wants to build.

I'm one of the lucky folks that works in Columbus but doesn't live in C-Bus which means that I will pay this tax that I didn't get a chance to vote on.

You know, Columbus used to be a nice city. Used to be.

I also am a life long resident of the Columbus area and it’s demise has made me sick. The highways are littered with debris and weeds are everywhere, it appears they have given up. The downtown area which was really growing and expanding is now like a mini Detroit. Crime is off the charts. We owe all this to the Coleman regime.

89,000 voters decided this issue. Disgraceful.

The issue passed by a little over 3,000 votes.
