I heard the prisons are overcrowded and they are letting people out so the worse that will happen is that he will get electronic monitoring collar chafe

He could get 3 1/2 years in the Lincoln bedroom, after all, it is a federal facility.

**** “Just like Edwin Edwards” *****

My old Boss... I still have to shower twice a day (just because of the memory of the slime)

I knew Jefferson (before he was “Dollar Bill”) when he was on City Council, he was rumored at that time to be connected... but then again so was the entire Police Department.

I just saw this story on Fox Report with Shephard Smith. Nowhere in the entire story did they mention that Jefferson was a Democrat.

Former U.S. Rep. William Jefferson has been found guilty of 11 of the 16 charges against him in a federal bribery and conspiracy trial.

He's a Dimocrat, his political #'s will go up because of it via media attention.

Maybe they will send him to CA for prison time only to release him for budgetary purposes.

I predict that Obama will give him a pardon in short order.

>>”Obammy will invite him over for a beer.”

No. He’ll invite the JURY over, get them drunk, and get them to “change” the verdict, or they might become a hung jury.

(After a “teaching moment” about lynching.)

DG

p.s. Its the Chicago way.

But he was a character and could charm his way into and out of many things but the feds finally got him. The bumper stickers/slogans in his race against David Duke were amusing. “Vote for the crook, it’s important” .... “Vote for the Lizard, not the Wizard”. And Edwin’s comment about Duke... “the only thing we have in common is that we were both wizards between the sheets’....

It’s possible that Obama may give him a pardon/commutation this coming Christmas season.

Please accept my apology in advance for my ignorance, but can anyone advise the status of the indictment that led to Tom Delay’s removal from office?

The last I heard, and that was long ago, was that although an indictment was obtained, the PROSECUTION was seeking additional time to prepare for trial ?!?!?

Clearly the objective was Delay’s removal from office ASAP. That objective was met but I wonder if he was ever brought to trial and if so, what resulted?

Fellow Harvard grad like Obama. Funny how this fact was omitted from the Wall St Journal writeup (as well as no mention of his Democrat label).

What is the over/under on the pardon?

DeLay..... As far as I know the two indictments alleging money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering still stand. The conspiracy to violate election law charge was thrown out by the courts and upheld all the way to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. Earle upon leaving office said he’d help the incoming DA pro bono in resolving the two counts. So at this time I guess he’s still under indictment but no trial date has been set that I find or have heard of in the Texas media.

Whoopee. He’ll be sentenced to 5 minutes in jail and have to pay back half the money.

I am sure this will be covered intently by the mainstream media as well as chrissy matthews and olberdouche. Unless, of course, they find another “scandalous” tidbit about Sarah Palin’s wardrobe on which to focus.
