Instead of appearing in person, where "extremists" would have "the chance to shout and make YouTube videos," Baird said Wednesday, he's holding what he calls "telephone town halls" instead.
Baird said he's using the new system because he fears his political opponents may be planning "an ambush" to disrupt his meetings, using methods Baird compared to Nazism.
"What we're seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics," Baird, D-Vancouver, said in a phone interview. "I mean that very seriously."

First of all, you have NO freakin' idea what the Nazi's did... and what we are doing ain't it.
Second of all, if this is how you truly feel about dissent... where were you when Code Pink was doing this very same stuff a year or so ago?
Funny but I had the crazy idea you are Congressman for all your constituents, and you don’t brand anyone with a different idea your “opponent”.
It’s even worse to do that when you go home to “listen” and find out people don’t agree with you.

I can’t recommend this book highly enough.
Always imply that your opponent is doing the very thing that you do.
That way everyone is looking at your opponent, who spends their time denying something they aren't doing and looking very guilty by their repeated denials. This gives you the freedom to commit the very act you accuse him of doing because no one is looking at you.

When Baird was out stumping for Hilary Care, he met with the Woodland Chamber of Commerce in his district to explain the plan. One employee of the restaurant where the chamber met expressed concern over the cost to her for the new health plan. Baird tried to assure her that it was only an estimate. The
employee quickly came back for all to hear, “WHAT!! IT COULD BE HIGHER?”.
Baird turned red and ended the questions.
