You will be painted as the aggressor in the enemedia. Your life, your reputation, your job, your family will be crushed and ruined. Sarah Palin's travails will look like a day at the amusement park compared to what they will do to you if you defend yourself with deadly force against an attack by a purple shirted thug.
Not to say you shouldn't do it, but at least understand what you'd be signing up for.
