He fulfiled His promise to them. He sent a Savior to pay for the sins of all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, God and King. God's promise to Israel came before the Incarnation of Christ.
A promise is a promise. Especially if God made it. I strongly doubt He would ever change "the original terms" He had with Israel. For the Lord does not equivocate: He knows what He's doing.
