The Schick test is for diphtheria. The Mantoux test is the skin test for TB.

According to this, it was used for TB also. At the time we were told it was for TB. I never realized it was for diphtheria as well. Thanx

The more I read on this, the more confused I’m getting.
The test I got in HS and again in boot camp might well have been mis-named the Shick test. It consisted of a drop of fluid on the skin followed be a device which produced several (6?) pin pricks that just broke the skin. In HS I got it on the fore arm and in boot camp on the upper arm near my small pox vaccination mark.

I also remember in boot camp getting several injections just below the skin as in the Mantoux test.

Like I said, I’m getting confused as to which was which. Perhaps more coffee will help.
