“My wife was at this Town Hall Meeting.

Herger was well received and he said just keep doing what we’re doing (Tea parties, protests, email, letters, phone) because although it’s not reported often enough, the Congresscritters want to be re-elected above all else and they are hearing you.”

I know it is working. Same (sorta) response From my Rep.

My Rep Jeff Flake (AZ) said the same thing.

Wally gets it, and always has. If we had more Pub congress critters like him, the party wouldn’t be where it is.

I hope he said more than that a “public option” was not acceptable, I hope he said that nationalized health care in any form is unacceptable. We need tort reform, Medicare and Medicaid overhaul(gradual phasing out, IMO)and get the government out of health care period. We need less government, not more.

The closer Republicans adhere to a pure constitutional position on health care, the more they will lose Medicare recipients. And the press will help us lose them. Until we do move to a pure constitutional position, we will be reduced to staking out defense lines arbitrarily at levels of opportunity or plausibility.

You have to play the hand that you are dealt. Conservatives can't make a realistic Constitutional argument until they have two/thirds majorities in each house of Congress. Since that is not the case, we'll have to improvise to win at Waterloo.

Make the seniors object to government intruding itself into to doctor - patient relationship via eventual de facto rationing.

Make independents realize that all of these entitlements are fiscal suicide with a fiat currency. We already have at least $10 trillion in outstanding national debt and $50 trillion in unfunded obligations, IIRC.

The far left rat controlled House was never going to agree to any conservative proposal. Let GOP House members stress the medical and ethical conflicts in Obamacare. Let GOP Senators mainly stress the horrid fiscal mess.

They need to get in front of the cameras like Schumer. Hit them from every angle possible.

Sound advice.

Hit them hard on spending, taxes, and liberty.

In defense of the Republicans being semi-silent until now. They don’t have the votes to stop this debacle and I think they are standing on the sidelines giving the DEMS enough rope to hang themselves. They also know the louder they chant against the chosen ONE< the more the MSM will laud them and call them the party of NO. Then, the drones and kool aid drinkers will pick up the chant.

I agree to some extent that they sit back and let the demons hang themselves over this issue. It’s all good for the Republicans in 2010.

Sometimes when you are a minority, the best thing you can do is let them kill and destroy each other- then come in and pick up the pieces.

The American people are voicing their opinions and this is what matters the most at this point.

I agree with that strategy if we are just talking politics, and I imagine that’s just what a lot of Republicans are doing.

This health care debacle is WAY WAY beyond politics, and there is no excuse for anyone, especially those we have entrusted to represent us, to stand silently by during this repeat of 1930’s Germany.

“I am a proud right wing terrorist,” he declared to cheers.

Herger praised the man’s attitude.

Wait, what?
