Between this and the WH taking over interrogation, CIA director isn’t a job worth having right now. There is no way the director can do the right thing for the organization when the WH wants to discredit and dismantle it. Personally, I think the CIA are a bad bunch to have as enemies...

I guess they will just have to go to Academia for a replacement. There are plenty of Noam Chomsky types who would realist the task of dismembering the entire intelligence system on route to a totalitarian leftist dictatorship.

Gates is next.

Bingo.

The White House takeover of interrogation of terrorists is a huge slap in the face for Panetta, it essentially neuters the agency. The takeover probably has more to do with Panetta being peeved than the investigation of Bush-era abuses.

It's going to become very interesting to see who Obama puts in his place. It will have to be someone who accepts the fact that the White House will be doing the job the CIA used to do, so it will have to be someone WEAK. The CIA rank and file will not want to work for someone who allows Obama to turn the agency into a subsidiary of ACORN.

Pass the popcorn.
