We’ve had plenty of rain too. This has been the best August in memory with low temps (88-92 degrees) and low humidity. What we’ve cooked down so far has made some very strong juice. Do you cut yours when making jelly with another type of juice like grape or apple?

Like elderberries..echinacea has mixed reviews. I am not going to use it..nor Sambucol. There are plenty of other things to try.

So in essence, you can go mow your lawn in the sun and get the same effect?

......So in essence, you can go mow your lawn in the sun and get the same effect?.....

In the summer but not in the fall, winter, spring when it is cold and overcast for days and days and days.

The current trend for no sun and slathering on sunblock is actually unhealthful and the bad effects of not making vitamin d outweigh the danger of cancer from being burned to a crisp.

The best course seems to be to take it in heavy doses of 4,000 units during flu season.

My interpretation of the study is to take 2,000 units eryday and 4,000 units when there is flu going around.

If you do a little googling you will find several other studies indicating many other benefits of vitamin d

At Walmart a big bottle of 2,000 unit tablets cost about $6.00 pretty cheap upside with no downside

After I was exposed for a few days, about 5 days later I had a day where I really felt punk. I felt the flu was coming on. I actually did a bad thing and kept some appointments, but at one I felt so bad I wondered if I could get home. I felt like feverish and sick but no symptoms; do you know what I mean? I did not actually HAVE a fever and certainly no cough or even nausea — I just felt like I was about to come down with something MAJOR.

I went home to rest, and got lots of sleep that night, and never got sick.

Since the day I found out I was exposed, I had been taking all my vitamins and supps, including 2000 vit D and zinc 3-4x a day.

Could I have actually fought it off?

The reason I wonder if I did is twofold. One, the family that exposed me all got the flu (tested to be H1N1) one by one but the dad got it for “half a day.” He was FINE the next day.

Two, a month later, when my little boy got it one week after being exposed separately (in the ER when he broke his arm), I slept with him and cared for him all the 4 days he was pretty sick, and you can imagine I was coughed on all night long.

Never got anything. I wonder if I had the lightest case of it ever or just got lucky and did not get it.

I have lived under the belief that stupid policies are designed for stupid people, and therefore, they don’t apply to me.

Uh...you might want to avoid repeatedly misspelling principal as principle.

I wouldn’t put much of anything past Emperor Zero, but an article that says “This happened at my school and school district” without identifying either sets of my skeptic alarm.

I’m not making an allegation agaainst Williams or AIP, but let’s remember that Obama isn’t the only person who might want to use fear to gain.

Well, I can’t speak for Williams, having simply posted his article. I don’t even know him. But I can say that AIP has no interest in fear-mongering. In fact, I spend a fair amount of time each week attempting to assuage the unreasonable fears of folks.

One of my favorite sayings is that those who fear God need fear nothing else.

That’s not to say that there isn’t plenty going on in the world around us that isn’t frightful. There’s plenty. It’s just that the hearts of true Americans should be full of the kind of courage that always overcomes fear.

Ok, I did have the flu in the 70s, back before I had my tonscils removed due to their rotten, bloated state. I have the flu now and I am testifying that what I have is not...I repeat NOT your average seasonal flu. I ran a fever for two days. I have eaten enough garlic to sink a ship...which is why my fever didn’t go on for a longer period...but my throat feels like it should be bleeding. I have heard folks say that their throat feels like it is on fire, and that description does NOT do this pain any justice! I feel like I have third degree burns in my throat. I will write more later, after writing this much, I am too weak to write more!

Ok I have rested and am still no better...but I can type a bit more. As I was saying, this is not your run of the mill flu, and I find it increasingly suspicious that the vaccines are in short supply just as that Obamacare bill passes the house. And what a coincidence that we lost several thousand vaccines due to a theft and so~called possible contamination just a week before said bill hit the house...

Course, I am sickly and could be ranting because of the lack of oxygen flow to my brain....
