she’s 58..now tell me, what sort of bodyguard/security company would hire a woman at that age, and from the picture, not exactly in the shape required to perform those functions???????
It’s very easy for people to criticize, but if you’ve never been in that position, it’s utterly impossible for people to understand.
“Go get a job, any job” is a good slogan, but with rent/mortgage, car/truck payment, utilities, credit cards and God knows what else, how on earth is $10-$12 per hour, IF they can beat out the 20 year old with many, many more years to contribute, going to pay for that?

If she said she’s willing to shovel horse excrement, flipping burgers would be much better than that.
I have known people on unemployment who turn in the minimum number of job apps necessary to keep getting that check and sit around until it runs out.
I have a real problem with people who say they can’t find a job. The longest it ever took me was 3 weeks, and I was about to start calling Burger King, college degree be damned. There are jobs; people just either don’t look hard enough or think they are above working at Wal-Mart or McDonalds. If her benefits are about to end, I suggest she put in apps at those type of places. Some money is better than no money.
I was homeless for awhile after my divorce. Helped start a mortgage company as a partner in Mississippi, was totally destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. Moved to Texas and had a decent job right off the bat. Everywhere you look there's work and business opportunities. I weigh 360 lbs and am uglier than sin, do you think there's no discrimination against me? Anyone who's only put in "dozens" of resumes since 2008 isn't seriously looking. When I taught job seeking skills to welfare moms at the Iowa Workforce Center, I wanted to see 4 applications or resumes a DAY and at least 3 real interviews a week or you got demerits.
Did you miss the part of my post where I said I recruit for a 50 state mortgage company? Not all security positions are physically demanding. Typically, unarmed security only requires being able to walk, stand, hear, read & write English and see. Do you think she can do that? Obviously, personal protection/bodyguarding is much more involved. Mortgage loan officers, underwriters and processors normally sit in a chair at a desk or cubicle.
