Something occurs to me here. This method is going to necessarily limit the amount of explosive he can carry, compared to a belt/vest sort of carry. This’ll be a much smaller explosion. Of course it’s going to obliterate his lower torso and internal organs. But I have to wonder if his head might be somewhat shielded and “survive” the initial blast and shock wave and he wouldn’t die instantly. It might take a few minutes for the brain to finally die. It could hurt like the dickens.

Brain activity with guillotine cases seems to show cessation of response within 20 to 30 seconds.

Not that one cares how much pain a terrorist causes himself.
