I'd think the cops would be able to get DNA evidence if they wanted to.
You must be watching too much CSI on TV. Any DNA evidence left on this guys severed finger would be contaminated by the DNA of this guys severed finger.
DNA evidence must be free of potential contamination from any other DNA source to be admissible in court.
Dental imprints however, may be evidence, if the police were interested in finding this person. As would finding the person with blood on their face and clothes immediately following this fight in the first place.
I’m a law and order guy and I generally give the benefit of the doubt to the cops.
That said, the cops should not have permitted any contact between the two groups. That is simply crowd control 101 stuff. Given that they did not manage that relatively simple task, I don’t hold out much hope for them ever getting the guy who bit the finger off—despite the undoubted presense of literally hundreds of cameras at the rally.
That said, it would seen the man did not bite his own finger off. Therefore, an Onadacare thug must have done it. Therefore, as someone has already said, that’s puts a positive spin on things on our side. We aren’t the ones talking about or perpetrating real violence at these Onadacare rallys and town hall meetings.
