(CNN) -- Could George W. Bush or some of his top aides end up behind bars?
It's extremely unlikely, but the Obama administration is taking its first steps along a path that could lead in that direction, with the investigation of Central Intelligence Agency interrogators involved in the war on terror.
"You don't know where these things are going to end up," former CIA agent Peter Brookes told me. "They could go to very high levels in the government."
The probe will focus on whether interrogators exceeded their instructions and broke the law when, for example, they choked a prisoner until he lost consciousness or threatened another one with a gun and a power drill.

President Bush was far from perfect. No man is and I think he’d be the first to admit that.

I would defend Bush, Cheney with the best of my abilities because they did keep us safe. You can’t have a country if its being blow to bits.

I think you may be right that this is just a distraction, but it might work well to our favor, because all but the most extreme Bush haters (some right here) would gladly stand in the gap to protect this man.

Voting for McCain or Obama.... either way, the country was screwed. Keep voting for the lesser of two evils. It’s that tactic that has brought us to this. Voters who only see the party label have brought us to this. Voters who believe in politicians have brought us to this.
McCain was a weak candidate and he would have made some stupid decisions as President, but...He is NO America hating Communist!
