(CNN) -- Could George W. Bush or some of his top aides end up behind bars?

It's extremely unlikely, but the Obama administration is taking its first steps along a path that could lead in that direction, with the investigation of Central Intelligence Agency interrogators involved in the war on terror.

"You don't know where these things are going to end up," former CIA agent Peter Brookes told me. "They could go to very high levels in the government."

The probe will focus on whether interrogators exceeded their instructions and broke the law when, for example, they choked a prisoner until he lost consciousness or threatened another one with a gun and a power drill.

Did they bite any fingers off of senior citizens?

“I can’t say I’ve ever seen such over-reaching in my life..”

No more overreaching than the Soviet and Chinese show trials, not so long ago. Those nations may have matured beyond such things, though.

I doubt it will ever even be in real danger of happening, but if they arrest him all I’ll be saying is “Vive Le Revolution!”

Yep, it’ll be contentious in the sense that things were contentious between 1861 and 1865.

I have said it a trillion times...this scumbag in the white house is begging for a civil war. Try it Obama and you will watch your military and protection turn on you in record time. The difference with the U.S. Military is it is voluntary...not mandatory like your third world countries. They won’t stand for this B.S.

And yet...the GOP still doesn’t have the balls or manpower to call him out every single day on it.

Yes sir. The tree is thirsty, I think. I believe there are only three paths left to America: A great Christian revival, a terrible civil war or conversion to a totalitarian state.

you know- the liberals are tryign to bankrupt Bush whetherthey get a conviction or not- their intent is to destroy Bush even htough he is no longer president- I sincerely hope the republicans go after Obama in the very same manner after he is kicked out of office in two more years- infact, I hope they launch all kinds of investigations to show he was a traitor to his country- it will be money well spent in my opinion seeing him bankruptedthe way he’s trying to do to Bush
