Reagan wasn’t governor of Alaska and then having to live isolated from the mainland after being identified as the conservative leader of the republican party after being nominated for vice president.
To try and face the left wing onslaught from office in Alaska or Hawaii is impossible.
I wish her the best. If she wins the GOP nomination, I shall be voting for her.
