March on DC -- If people like ME are going, something serious is going on. Who will be there?

My niece, my sister (fellow Freeper) and I are headed to the March on DC. I still can't believe it. Never done anything like this...especially if it cost me money!

But I sat there the other night and realized: We have to go. After complaining about the government for 20 years, this time I have to do something about it.

So we've bought our plane tickets, booked our hotel. (Marriott at Crystal City/Reagan)

Many of our friends are as angry as we are, but are unable to join us. So they've been enthusiastically passing the hat to support us and have raised almost $200 in just one day! (pledges range from $1 to $20). One lady friend wanted to give us $100 but I told her that was way too much!

If you want to go but can't afford it, try it with your friends (and their friends). You might be surprised how happy people are to feel like they have a part in it and will be represented at the March.

We're still trying to decide whether to join the march or just go straight to the rally site at the Capitol. But we'll be there....ready to rumble!

WHO ELSE IS GOING?

Maybe there's another thread I couldn't find. If so, someone please point me there. If not...let's make this the place we "register" and let others know we're going.

I’m going too, along with 3 girlfriends! We’re staying at the Mayflower. I’ve NEVER done anything like this. Neither have the others I’m with. We’re all fired up, scared, mad, anxious...and numerous other words associated with the destruction of our country.

I’m heading down on Friday night and marching on DC Saturday. I don’t like crowds or protest marches and I’ve never done anything like this in my life.

I just found out my mother, a registered Democrat and Kerry voter in 2004, is also going with a Pro Life group.

My husband is going. I decided I shouldn’t try, seeing I’m kind of wheel chair bound. He thought we should go, so I told him to go without me. I’d be fine home alone. He booked a flight and a hotel within minutes of my saying “DO IT!

I’m going on my own, too. I am flying into and out of DC on the same day because I don’t really have the time to stay any longer.

My plan was to try to meet up with Freepers from my state at the Sheraton (they’re leaving the hotel between 9:30-10:00 am) and walk with them, or if I miss them there, to go to Freedom Plaza on the metro and try to find a group there I can march with. It’s probably a good idea to try to find some people you can walk with, who will know who you are, notice if anything happens to you, etc. I don’t think there will be trouble, btw, but it’s always good to be on the safe side and, anyway, it’s more fun to be with a group!

I hate crowds, as well, but have attended a few of the Life Marches in DC.

I suspect this group will be similar; cordial, friendly. You will make friends there and someone else will have your back.

If I make it look for a white guy with a green Baltimore ,Orioles cap carrying a sign that simply says “NO!”

My guess is that if you don't join the march, you'll wish you did.
When you see the massive gathering of Americans marching to take back their country, You will want to join them!

If you want signs, there will be plenty at the start of the march.

I am making my banner this weekend to carry in the march.
Look for the "We the People" banner in bright yellow. The second part of the banner, you will have to see it when you get there.
