“We counted 56 times on another thread”

Haha, was I the only one to noticed he rubbed his nose a million times during his speech today, if “I” didn’t know any better it appeared like he snorted something just prior to giving the speech.

I read it. Noted a couple of problems with it, but overall it’s fine.

I would generally appreciate my two kids hearing this message from the President of the United States. Even a severely flawed one. It’s overall a good message.

My daughter’s school said that they would show his speech when they let prayer back into school.

In other words, when hell freezes over~

My count: 56 times. Subtract 2 for a quote by Hussein from someone else saying "I".

54 "I"s in 18 minutes...average one "I" every 20 seconds.

Narcissist.

It’s overall a good message.

Check out the posts above that point out the lies about his childhood he's going to telling your two kids tomorrow.

That one really stands out. First he acts like another parent or a teacher who's inevitably going off on a tangent, next he goes into campaign mode. Can't you just imagine how attentive the kiddies are going to be and how they won't be able to wait to vote for this dude once they reach 18?

Of course, the real audience is parents who are dumber than their kids are. But to reach them, I suppose unionized teachers are expected to staple a transcript or VHS tape of his speech to each student's cardigan before they go home.

Don’t forget the MSM backlash that’s supposed to swamp the evil Republicans over the next few days.

Even if a lot of schools show this drivel, how many kids are going to have their eyes glass over after a minute or so, and tune him out? It’s the same old ‘stay in school’ mantra they’ve heard countless times before. We are way overestimating his influence on this one.

56 when you include all of the first person singular contractions I'm and I've.

15 sentences begin with "And."

12 sentences begin with "But."

108 contractions.

1 reference to AIDS.

Now I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. A lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and say, "This is no picnic for me either, buster."

Oh yeah she was such a good mommy. She was so good that she dumped you off with granny halfway around the world at age 10 or 11 and saw you for brief visits a handful of times after that. You loved mommy so much that when she died in 1996, you didn't even bother to visit her on her deathbed in granny's house.

Maybe you might have more "cred" with the "at risk yutes" you are attempting to reach if you told them the real story. Plenty of them are be raised by granny too. Oh and by the way, you might want to mention that is not polite to call granny a "typical" anything. It is impolite and makes you look like an a**.

Well, to be fair, he also used the word “you” or “your” over 200 times.

OK, I expected not to like this speech.

But I like it.

There are a few too many things about his past, like I’d rather kindergartners not hear that he did things he is ashamed of.

Overall, I think it’s a great speech for young people from about 5th grade up. He should have made it public long before today and more people would have approved of it.

...a great speech? I don't think so. It's boring. 0 has highly paid speech writers working for him. I'm surprised that this is the best they could do.

And I disagree with you on what should be. Cities, counties and townships are creatures of state government. Education should be entirely private. Government (at any level) Education = Government Propaganda. I wouldn’t leave it to the Mayor Daleys either.

OK, maybe not a GREAT speech, but with my expectations so low, it really was shockingly good.

I expected a lot of “my brother’s keeper” cr@p that would sound good but be socialist in nature.

It really isn’t. It’s almost harmless.

It’s not appropriate for the littlest kids, though.
