Crist's popularity as governor doesn't always extend to members of his own Republican Party, and that might make him vulnerable as he runs for U.S. Senate.
BY ADAM C. SMITH
Charlie Crist is swimming in campaign money, and polls consistently show him to be among the most popular politicians in America.
But something ominous and unpredictable is brewing in Florida, and a growing number of Republicans are starting to consider the unthinkable: the people's governor could lose his campaign for U.S. Senate.
"It's rare that I talk to anyone that's got a good thing to say about the governor right now. It's hard to find a real Charlie Crist ally," said former state Republican Chairman Tom Slade.

Christ is such a RINO. The Fishing Liscense was just extended to cover people fishing on the bank. Republican RINO government is no better than Democrats. Taxes have doubled under Bush and Crist and so has big government red tape.
I really want to believe that, but the polls I’ve seen have not looked good for Rubio vs. Crist.
I know Marco personally. I was there when he first took the oath of office as a city council member for the two-square mile size City of West Miami. It doesn't surprise me in the least he would show up at tea parties and rail against big government. Most first and second-generation Cubans in Miami can tell you all about the evils of big government and its inevitable impact on personal liberty from their own recent family history.
I am not going to sit here and tell you he's perfect, because he's not. Nobody is. But if we are seeking out leaders who understand the meaning of smaller government as a fundamental aspect of our personal liberty, I can assure you, Marco Rubio does with every fiber of his being, and, most especially, those of his parents, whom I know as well.
One of the Youtube videos I think most captures the essence of Marco Rubio can be seen by clicking here.

Legal immigration has been a great source of strength and prosperity for America, but I believe illegal immigration threatens the foundation of this system. If I had been in the Senate at the time, I would have opposed the McCain-Kennedy bill. I believe we must fix our immigration system by first securing the border, fixing the visa and entry process and opposing amnesty in any reform.

Rubio could have used it for fundraising but has not to date.
There is someone in Central FL who is considering getting in the race after being approached — was considering a run for a statewide seat but now may consider running against Crist. Crist dissed former Congressmen along with the County Chairs. The County Chairs rated LeMieux last of the candidates, and Crist picked him which has not gone over well.
Crist stepped in it big time with this pick and why some consultants think he may not run in the end which would be a slap at Cornyn who has already endorsed him but I would find hilarious.
I did, however, get to sit down and talk with Randy Wilkinson. He's running for the seat Adam Putnam is leaving. I have always thought that Randy had a few quirks, (Polk County Commissioner) but he always has the "people's" interest first on his mind. I also got to speak with a rep of Putnam's and let him know I would never back Adam again, on anything, since his vote "for" the Bill of Attainder" against AIG. Explanation for the vote from rep: "He was out of sinc!"
I hope he loses to Marco Rubio. Alot of us in Florida do not trust Crist (pal of Obama, RINO etc.) & will be voting in the primary for Rubio. Mel was a terrible Senator & I guess he knew it as he quit before his term was over. NO more Rino’s please.
