The over a million estimate is NATIONAL. Supporting rallies were held across the country. Let’s not deliberately UNDERESTIMATE ourselves in an effort not to OVER estimate, shall we??

If you use the "crowd estimator" posted on Michelle Malkin's site and you compare the size of the crowd gathered on the west lawn, spilling over to the Grant memorial, and milling about the mall area, 250-300K seems like a decent estimate. I left at about 2 p.m. and the crowd was not that deep into the mall area.

Really, though, it doesn't matter. Our march was a HUGE success!! I don't want to argue about it . . . but I will say one more thing: The DC Police don't do crowd estimates. At all. As I was walking out I asked one (who was standing with the officer who did the orientation that morning with us volunteers) and they both said, "It is our policy to not estimate crowd sizes." But it WAS much bigger than they were prepared for. The one DC Policeman chuckled, "I'll tell you this: there's more than one person here." :o)
