Families who fail to get health insurance could be fined up to $3,800 under a health care reform plan proposed

Couple that with his taxes on the insurance industry, which he knows full well will be passed down to the consumer in the form of higher premiums, which will result in even fewer people being able to afford private insurance, and we we have the makings of a lot of people being soaked.
Hmmm... $6000 for a family plan on my own, or $3800 to the government
what to do...
Can’t some village in MT reclaim their idiot, please?
Hey, I have a great idea. Since we own a car company why don’t we impose fines if people don’t have a car. $4500.00 per family sounds fair.
Well, now— how often can they fine you? Once only? Yearly? This money is for the empty treasury, you know— and it’s really, really empty.
It’s a hidden on the surface tax. Don’t get insurance you get taxed, buy a government approved insurance you get taxed.
OBAMA: I will not approve any bill that will increase middle class taxes. I will sign it but let me make one thing clear, I do not approve.
Those who don’t purchase insurance now for affordability reasons still won’t and they won’t have to pay a fine either. So how does that keep them from injecting cost into the system for everyone else when they get sick/injured? It won’t. We will still have to pay for them no matter what.
He is from Montana. He doesn't know his way back!
Just like others from sparsely populated states, when they hit DC, they find their vote is sought by many and is just as important to the lobbyist as the senators from the Big States. It must be a mind-blowing experience for a small-town mentality.
Please Nevada, come get Harry Reid!! He has lost his way.
tax would apply for any period for which the individual is not covered by a health insurance plan with the minimum required benefit but would be prorated for partial years of noncompliance
Ok so I have not gotten to far yet (Abortion is paid for on page 26 I think) but did anyone see this “Joe Wilson moment” in this bill...........This is not tighten it up. In the age of identity theft, it is easy to steal or pay for , name, dob and SS#........The way I read this, it’s a piece of cake for on illegal to get on the program...He** maybe ACORN can help people sign up!
PAGE 21 Eligibility Verification. In order to prevent illegal immigrants from accessing the state exchanges obtaining federal health care tax credits, the Chairmans Mark requires verification of the following personal data. Name, social security number, and date of birth will be verified with Social Security Administration (SSA) data. For individuals claiming to be U.S. citizens, if the claim of citizenship is consistent with SSA data then the claim will be considered substantiated.
Harry needs to go search for the light.
Six thousand? Try over ten. Not a hard choice for me. This is the same thing that happened in MA when they instituted their Romney-care.
Question: Would not having health insurance be a federal crime?
Oh yeah. The politicians get to keep it all.
ME LIKE-EEE!
Rumor has it that Mitt Romney liked the bill so much he took a copy and vanished into the men's room for 2 hours.
If a person can’t afford a insurance plan how can they afford a fine for not having one?..................
Keep it all? Keep what? There isn’t anything to keep. The Congress has raided the SS “Trust Fund” for decades, filling it with IOUs called T-Bills. The money that is taken in each month, in excess of what is necessary to pay for that month’s payouts is automatically replaced with treasury notes that are coming due soon, with interest. When the majority of SS retirees are Boomers, it will be Judgment Day. There will be no money to pay them and China will not lend any more money to the US to fill in the gaps. Then ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE..................
The Mandate should be feared even more than Public Option
