The back-and-forth going on in this thread suggests to me that Republican chances of turning out Obama in 2012 is very iffy.
Yep. We don't have much of a chance in 2012. President Obama is very charismatic and I think he'll realize that he needs to stop overextending himself once much of his agenda is stopped.
I think Jeb Bush should run in 2016, Hispanics love him and that's the base GOP needs to appeal to.
I think by 2012, Obama will still beat Jeb 51 - 47 in the polls and Jeb will decline to run by that time but he'll keep his options open in the future (meaning he may run in 2016).
I think that there is so much of a disagreement over conservatism in Republican circles right now that squabbling is going to allow another obvious RINO to win the nomination by default. That’s not a certainty because the 2012 is 3 years away and Obama looks like he’s in a downward spiral but could manipulate events to become widely popular again even if he screws the country even more so that now.
