The report cited evidence that extremist groups are stockpiling weapons and ammo in preparation for...something.

Yea, in preparation for self defense...in preparation for defending the constitution against marxist usurpers and thugs. Barack Hussein Obama was duly elected, and no one I know is ever considering or talking about over turning that.

But they do talk about the unconstitutional actions he is taking and how they fear a complete overthrow of constitutinal government by such an one...and a firm commitment in that undesired and unhoped for event to defend he constitution.

Excessive target practice

There's no such thing.

$25 for a box of 25 9mm rounds?

Gotta be some of the new "home defense" rounds being sold to new gunowners. Although in NJ regular FMJ 9mm is about $14 a box, I've seen .45 ACP at $27.

police departments have been forced to scale back on target practice, fearing that they won't have any bullets left for real police work.

What the heck? I thought real police work was footwork, investigations and catching the bad guy? Does it include summary executions now?

the ongoing ammo and reloading supply shortage is one of the more disturbing things I have observed, aside from the Manchurian Candidate becoming president and systematically destroying the political and security policies of the US.

Indoor ranges. They make their money selling lanes. In order for them to do that then need ammo, which of course they make money on but, nevertheless they do have ammo and at reasonable prices. Sort of.

even people that don't own guns are hoarding ammunition "just in case."

Say what? When someone who doesn't know the difference between a bullet and a cartridge writes about ammo and guns, I tend not to believe anything they write.

You must live in Idaho. I saw 45 for $11 and thought “Gee, if I wasn’t coming back on a plane, I would buy some”.

Still, we can get American Eagle 50 rounds for about $25 so it works out about the same.

$.50 per FMJ

Yep, I found my 9mm winclean at the range. The price was $17 for 50, which honestly isn’t all that much more than I paid years ago for it. I grabbed 3 boxes :)

Just in case what? Are they planning to eat it or try to sell it to gunowners at excessive prices when the SHTF? I don't think so...my 15 rounds in the mag ends the negotiations, period.

partly it's fueled by socioeconomic factors, racism and right-wing hate. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Nah, its fueled by those who do not trust a government that wants to make them subservient to the state rather than exist as a free people.

Its a social movement, and is the continuation of the self help resort to arms which founded our nation in 1776.

Thats hardly socioeconomic factor, racism and hate. Its sheer patriotism.

And do not forget such patriotism Yasha Levine. In the future, your life may come to depend on it.

And for those who say that preparedness for patriotic duty is hateful, and racist, it is obvious that they have forgotten the faces of their fathers:

>> Earlier this month, one of the cars of a Jewish family was trashed inside and out, its engine destroyed and swastikas painted on its doors and hood.

So, Mr. Yasha (Jacob) Levine, as an honored member of the secular 90% of The Tribe, would that poor Jewish family have been better off with or without a few handguns and a small cache of ammo if these hakenkreuz-painting pseudo-Nutzys had decided to go a bit further?
