Had a similar problem with one of my daughter’s high school teachers in TN. She had, many years previous, won many awards as a teacher, but had turned into a bitter old witch who clearly hated the students she was supposed to teach.
We parents banned together and spoke with management in very strong terms. She didn’t come back to school the next year - personnal reasons. Mostly I think because the parents had collected money to hire an attorney and the schoolboard decided we were serious.
When my daughter went to enroll the next year she was told she could not take any more advanced placement courses. She called me, I bailed out of work and went to see what was going on. The assistant principal says, “well there is a note in her file”. I demanded the note. It was from the now disgraced teacher and said that my daughter was an overachiever and should not be placed in any more advanced placement courses. My daughter was not the only student with a note. Even after the witch was gone, she was causing trouble.
I have NO faith in the public school system. My very bright grandson is NOT going to public school. I was a single mother, it was the best that I could do, but my children deserved better as do the children stuck in those schools now.
