There was a very small article in my newspaper today regarding this. It’s surprising to me that the newspaper isn’t really covering this story since it takes place in my state. Anyway, the State Education Commissioner, Lucille Davy, issued a statement through a spokesperson basically stating that she wants partisan politics out of the classroom.
Rev Willie James is likely related to Elvira James in some way. Civil rights activist, President of the County NAACP, and has a charitable organization called The Gathering, which had assets of about 39,000 in 2006.
Rev Willie is a veteran who sued in NJ and the State Supreme Court integrated a town because of it. There was a Senate tribute in 2000 to him.
