Yeah, but “corny” is a lot more fun than smarmy and vulgar, ain’t it? I’d truly enjoy seeing bad things happen to Letterman, whereas Jay, hell, you want the guy to go home to his wife, live in peace and, some day when it’s time, die of old age laughing at one his corny jokes. Letterman? You’d rather see him lose his big show, go out trying to slog his sorry ass around the two-bit comedy club circuit, bombing and die of a drug overdose in a crappy “dressing room”.
