Here is a perfect example of what you are talking about. Meat Packing used to be a good paying union job. It is pretty disgusting work so more power to the guys/gals that want to do it. Now meat packing is being done by illegals making half the money the job used to pay.

The reaction of the unions is the scary thing. Instead of fighting illegal immigration the unions are trying to organize factories made up of illegal workers. Doesn't seem the union members got their money's worth from their dues.

Yea, meatpacking plants and some poultry processing plants. Where I live, a poultry plant has operated for more than 50 years with white and black employees, doing work Americans won’t do. A few illegals are around, but nothing like some areas. Still, if for some reason a big influx occurred, they could drive wages down in that plant that has run fine without illegals for 50 years.

And, they’ve driven construction wages down in many areas. Construction was once good paying, and teens and college age kids sought those jobs for summer and year round. Not so good anymore.
