That whole area is such a beautiful and pristine part of the world. Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Kiribati, Palau, the Marshall Islands, etc. would be paradise if not for the earthquakes, typhoons and tsunamis.

If I win the Super Lotto tonight I’ll organize my own personal relief effort to help them out. Pacific Islanders have long had a reputation for being some of the nicest people on earth. The kindness of others should (dare I say “must”?) be extended to them in their time of need.

I live 50 miles directly South of mt. St. Helens, so I tend to pay attention to things geologic. Our volcano has been quiet for almost a year now, but that can change at the drop of a hat, or the shearing of a local fault line...say, Cascadia...

If it hadn’t been for WWII those places would just be footnotes in world geography.

I’d bet those atolls aren’t in a great deal of danger - tsumanis need gradually shallowing water and coastal topography to build their destructive effects.

Actually, we are less at risk from St. Helens here, than Seattle is from Mt. Ranier. If Ranier ever erupts, it will flush the Puget Sound like a giant toilet...some say that would be an enormous improvement...

Luk 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luk 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Just watched a show about the world’s volcanos.

One stop was Vanuatu. Fascinating.
