Steyn is fricking brilliant.
Why squander your presidency on trying to turn an economically moribund feudal backwater into a functioning nation state when you can turn a functioning nation state into an economically moribund feudal backwater?

"Everyone please vote for President Obama." It's not working. I've personally voted for him at least 40 times, and he still isn't showing up on the list. The person with the fewest votes listed is AJ Green @74 - and I don't think that name has changed since I started voting earlier today.

Why squander your presidency on trying to turn an economically moribund feudal backwater into a functioning nation state when you can turn a functioning nation state into an economically moribund feudal backwater? I think that was just about my favorite line as well. Steyn rocks.

those hapless Americans stuck at Gate 73 for four hours with nothing to watch but the CNN airport channelNO CHIT! The WORST thing about 9 hours in Orlando airport was CNN. Wait, the torture-chamber chairs were the worst, but CNN was NEXT WORST.

That was no cutout. We’ve been looking for all over for Wolf and using the cutout on the set. Please return our newsreader — a few people are starting to suspect — CNN.

OH, dear! That’s why his hair was still so brown. It reminded me of the First Gulf War!
I’ll try to FAX him to CNN in the morning, after I see if the library’s going to charge me a fine.

Why squander your presidency on trying to turn an economically moribund feudal backwater into a functioning nation state when you can turn a functioning nation state into an economically moribund feudal backwater? A good line, but Steyn actually allowed himself to be upstaged with the inclusion of this infantile howler: "What are you building by maligning rather than creating discourses for workability?" No less hilarious because of its blinding cluelessness. This is the Plan Nine From Outer Space of punditry.

"What are you building by maligning rather than creating discourses for workability?" Content-Free Sentence Generator. Elizabeth Dole probably sold it to her after losing the Senate seat.

"When the [lefty] Bush-haters in Oslo see Obama put more troops into Afghanistan (as I suspect he eventually will), will they want their Prize back?" When the Iranians test their first nuke and they tell Obama, America and the rest of the world to bend over and take it, the Norway will probably give the Iranians a Noble "Peace Prize" too!

You wanna talk about Obozo being a joke? Try this ...
I just saw the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES in a TV commercial for Latino comedian George Lopez! Saw it on TNT during the Red Sox game.
If this ad was faked, it was flawless. My sense is that the ad was real, with Obozo standing there talking to Lopez.
He’s got time to film TV commercials and go on Letterman, but doesn’t have time to talk to his Afghanistan commander? God help us all!
