That figures. He tried to pack the Supreme Court with his people too. My parents came of age during his administration, and they though he was the Second Coming.

By with his people I assume you mean from his own party, and if so isn't that what most presidents do?

No, he wanted to appoint more Justices to the Supreme Court who would approve his policies. His plan would have added one more Justice for every sitting Justice who was 70 years old or older. I think it would have added 6 more at that time, which would have created a court of 15 Justices. Congress didn't pass the bill he proposed to create the new Justices, one of the very few times Congress didn't give him what he wanted.

I'm sure he would have appointed all liberal Democrats, because the Court at that time was comprised mainly of conservatives and had ruled many of his socialist schemes unconstitutional which made him furious.
