Nope, it was “dissent” and “free speech” when Bush was in office so it was OK.
Since it is a felony to threaten the life of the president, this no doubt happened quite a lot. Just to give one example, a man named Richard Humphreys was sentenced to three years in prison for making a "joke" about a "burning Bush".
Yes. Yes, they were. Some were even already in prison and thus not much of an immediate threat, just like this guy.
